This is a tough fire. While I was driving towards the downtown about an hour ago, and saw the large pillar of smoke, I thought of Ukraine, Syria, Israel and Gaza - how those people are seeing their homes and cities suddenly demolished by missiles flying into them - and how it could, God forbid such a thing - happen to us too in the future. This isnt military war in our homeland, but theres no doubt in my mind that the fire has some connection to, and is a metaphor for the greater problem/s of the United States, that our government - increasingly unrealistic, and alienated from the needs of the hundreds of millions of American people - seems disinterested in and incapable of addressing: the rapid theft of our nations wealth and vitality, and the loss of our liberties. The almost infinitely diverse American People are not the cause of our problems. Theres something seriously wrong with all government from the top to the bottom.
