This is an all too familiar rant in my house. Pops up once or twice a year. If I ever become president of these fine United States, one of the things on my list to do is to deport Becky Hammon, revoke her U.S. citizenship, and make her go through the process of getting a work visa to play professional basketball in this country. Back in 2008, she sold her citizenship to Russia in order to play for the national team in the Olympics. Her salary for playing professional ball there TRIPLED for that and she was guaranteed extra money (lots of it) depending on the medal the team won. She now has DUAL citizen ship. Is that even possible to have dual citizen ship with Russia? In my mind, she chose her dream of playing in the Olympics over her love for this country. You were paid handsomely to become a Russian citizen, now live with your decision. Now mind you, I am patriotic, not the most vocal or rabid patriot but, still. This act of greed and cowardice, while not really treason, is enough for me to want to vomit. Thank you once again for your indulgence, Facebook Friends.
