This is my Observation and contribution to this blank check - TopicsExpress

This is my Observation and contribution to this blank check debate. The Southeast Governors are doing us a disservice. Do you think we will be giving another blank check if the Southeast is APGA? Heeeeeeeeeeeelllllllll Nooooooooooooooooooo. You bargain with strength and unity not 3/1/1 ratio. Thank you all for reading again. Shortly before the supplemental election in Anambra State, I went home to do some research and attend to some private matters. I am happy to report that I accomplished a lot and no time is better to make my findings known than now, the beginning of the year. I don’t think any of these is new but what we have to do to cure our malaise is thought provoking and should be taken seriously. In summary, politics has taken a totally new dimension in Nigeria and no holds are barred. In 1999 and subsequent election, according to OBJ was rigging was practiced. Today is is perfected. Politics has become the biggest industry that even the sacred are no longer revered and heavily involved. The pattern is the same all over the country. To win a Governorship elections, you will have to be an incumbent with 125m x 8 x 12 x n (n being the number of LGA in your state) Naira, and your party backing. Otherwise, forget it. The Southeast is more isolated than ever, that whenever GEJ is gone from office, less Federal money will come down South. You can forget funding of the Federal projects in the Southeast. The Southeast Governors are so divided, Ebonyi and Enugu PDP, Anambra APGA, Imo APC and Abia, I don’t know anymore. And we are only 5 states compared to 6 from other zones. What a shame! I have never appreciated Peter Obi before till now. I duff my hat to the man because he was able to deliver APGA in Anambra State. He carefully prepared for the fight ahead of time and utilized LGA money for this effort. He smartly convinced GEJ against intervening in the election that produced Chief Willie Obiano. I know for a fact that the other Southeast Governors were marveled speechless. Can they pull it off like Governor Obi did? Not by the longest shot. Finally, I have come to the conclusion that the only way we will be taken seriously in the country called Nigreia is by uniting the Southeast. Can Southeast unite? Have we even seen and felt an attack that will cause us to rally? May be not, but I have seen that attack and the impact will be felt more in 2015. As it stands today, we have no leverage for anything. Either way, the Southeast will vote for Jonathan no matter what if he wins the PDP ticket. But what do we get in return? Nothing. We have to prepare for 2015 and the only instrument left for us is APGA. Southeast Governors should see and appreciate what APC is doing. We are falling into a trap and Tinubu is being hailed the Man of the Year for building the opposition. Really? Rather than running to APC, the Southeast should run to APGA. APGA is the only vehicle of unity left for us. APGA is us as we should be APGA. It took this long but, a saying goes that, aku fechaa, odara awo. It is high time we came home, come home to speak with one voice if we truly care for the people of Southeast. Sure we live in a democracy but must we be crazy? Let no one tell me it is tribal to unite for a democratically lawful purpose. As we all have the right to belong to any party, we also should have the right to belong to one party if we so choose. The latter is what I endorse and advocate, for the posterity of this family called Igbo. I challenge my good friend, and a well-respected one at that, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, The Executive Governor of Imo State, to rejoin a family he walked away from. I want Owelle to recall our meeting in New Orleans where he single handedly, in a short notice convinced and brought Dim Ikemba Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu from his vacation in Maryland to attend the WIC convention in 2001. It was at this event that Ikemba, without mincing words and in public handed the mantle of leadership of NdiIgbo to Owelle Rochas Okorocha. That is not in denial. Owelle Rochas, we need you and you must shelf all wrongs that may have been done to you and do this for NdiIgbo. This sacrifice someone has to make and you are that someone. We cannot let APGA lose in Ala Igbo and you cannot be part of that conspiracy. It will be a betrayal worse than the sabo of the civil war era. We have more to gain as a people if you make the right call for NdiIgbo. There may be more to gain individually to toe the line you are on now but you have always cared for oha especially when that oha is yours. It is undoubtedly a more difficult climb for you to convince NdiIgbo that APC is a viable alternative because it is not. And to Governors Chime and Elechi, stop this game now. The argument is the same. Together we can extract more from GEJ or any other candidate for our zone. As more and more PDP Governors are decamping to APC, you too can decamp to APGA and let the real game begin. The time is now to send a powerful message. You are all smart, intelligent and honorable men. Do not let us down. The people are looking up to you for direction. The balls are in your court and it is no longer about your individual selves than the millions that have been held hostage by an arrangement that has given them nothing. No more blank checks. Support we will give but show us the sign that even what you will promise shall be executed promptly
