This is one of my anthem-of-my-life scriptures because it causes me to never relegate my Father God to only caring for spiritual things. Now may the God of peace make you holy in EVERY way, and may your WHOLE spirit AND soul AND body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. 1 Thess 5:23 (Emphasis mine.) Sometimes we sit back and allow the enemy to continue prolonged attack on our natural secular fleshly circumstances because we think God cares less about those things than He does our spiritual lives (as if He ever intended a division in the two.) But our Father MADE our flesh. He MADE our natural world and everything in it. Our bodies were created out of the natural. Our workplaces came about from the natural/secular earth. Our money is made of natural, earthy substance. Our schools were started by men created of God. ALL was made by Him, for Him, unto Him. But we unconsciously think He has bigger fish to fry than to relieve us of a headache, let alone life-threatening cancer. We think Hes too busy tallying up church attendance to help us at work when were stumped or overwhelmed by the pressure. We presume Hes more interested in securing our spot on Fifth Avenue, downtown Heaven than He is the bill we have no money to pay this month. We think Hes busy entertaining the angels and less interested in hearing a mothers cry and frustration when the baby wont just SLEEP! And these are the lies Hes dispelling today. He wants to make everything about us be holy AND wholly perfect. WHOLENESS. Wholeness in our spirit, wholeness in our mind and our emotions, wholeness in our mortal bodies. What good is holiness apart from wholeness? And what good is wholeness apart from holiness. He IS holiness, and He IS wholeness and we are made in His image. May we and our families be set apart HOLY and WHOLLY today!
