This is probably not going to be my most popular post this year, - TopicsExpress

This is probably not going to be my most popular post this year, but Ive always made a point of being transparent about all aspects of my business. Recently Ive been struggling with a dilemma. Some of the burgers on the menu such as the Hellfire and Smoky Mountain and ridiculously time consuming and costly to produce, making every aspect of them from scratch sparing no expense on the ingredients. So I could either a) reduce the quality by cutting a few corners b) make them smaller or with fewer ingredients or finally c) put the price up. Until today, the cost of these burgers in particular has only gone up 50p since the trailer days two years ago and thats despite incurring large extra costs on my side as well as continually increasing quality. For example, our buns are now organic, our meat is now all ground fresh daily and the cost of meat has risen. I now also have to pay the dreaded VAT which is another 20% on each sale. Now that these burgers account for about 50% of our sales, I cant skirt the issue any more. I refuse to compromise on quality and I dont want to have to hold back on ingredients when creating the perfect burger. These high end burgers were always supposed to be a special treat. Only now, they will be priced fairly. I will keep the paladin, Imperial and Swine at the same price so there will always be an affordable option. I know many of you think were already too pricey. Im afraid that is just the cost of ethical food, made from scratch. I expect flames. Ive said all I can so I wont be replying to any of them. Just rest assured that this decision has genuinely given me sleepless nights and I wouldnt do it if I didnt have to. Love Troll
