This is the most visited piece of my childhood history.I have great pride in the fact that my ancestors played a roll in its creation!So many sunny,cool days were spent romping the grounds,racing siblings and cousins up the stairs,ducking into the dark,damp chambers at the top!We weaved in and out of the poles of the All Nations cross,hoping to be the one to identify the most flags,thrilled at the smile it put on my mothers face,so proud that we had inherited her thirst for history!To this day,my heart speeds up,and I feel the childhood excitement welling up inside,the picture of mama standing there with the wind whipping us all around fresh in my minds eye
