This is what is happening in Bengal. Those who mock at JU students movement should remember that they are knowingly or unknowingly upholding the domination of political parties in West Bengal. They are only promoting by default a structure where there will be no independent voice of students, no activism outside the fold of a political party. JU has been successful in fighting back the hijacking of campuses by the ruling party. May be it is possible for its somewhat privileged position, but others are fighting the same battle elsewhere. Students mass movement is happening everywhere - at JU, at North Bengal, at Delhi University - in India and the rest of the world. Be critical but dont stop supporting students who are fighting against domination, against hegemony. Long live students movement!
