This is what you may have missed if you havent been involved in the candidate forums. I attended HUSD forums and candidate meet and greets. I listened with my own ears and eyes to exactly what these candidates bring to the table. The others just dont match up to Venessa B Whiteners experience, expertise and vision for our schools. Greg Wojtovich for Higley Governing Board 2014 is the only other candidate who has comparable experience and knowledge of how to make decisions on a school board. The other 2 running had no plan to share with us. As voters, we want to know what you bring to the table...this was your time to show me why I should vote for you. They had nothing but criticism for our schools. No plan. One of their answers about policy and financial plans was, Well, I will have to figure it out once I get in there and see the numbers. No thank you. I want invested parents, like me who have experience, like Vanessa. My son is my investment. I want quality, forward-moving, college-ready rigor for him. The proof is in the pudding. This is the district where we can see our money put toward things that produce outcome. The decisions to put in high quality administration, curriculum coaches, literacy specialists, etc. is smart and effective. It obviously has helped to build A schools with high AP scores, dual credit, nationally honored students whove received thousands of $$ in scholarships. The quality is showing. The growth is visible. Watch and see for yourself. Go to polls and vote Whitener and Wojtovich.
