This is why we do what we do! Here is a letter from a family we were able to help. Our son, Mason, was born on March 7th of this year at 24 weeks gestation, 16 weeks early. He remains in the NICU and his discharge date is yet to be determined, he has never been home. He suffers from premature lung disease and still needs a lot of support. We live 70 miles from the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. We have had the benefit of using the Ronald McDonald House, however, Keenen has had to return to work and so he has made many trips both planned and for emergencies, from our home. The expenses of this unforeseen crisis cannot be described, but it has had a major impact on our family. We are so very appreciative of the gas cards given to us by the “Hold My Heart Foundation”. Without this help Keenan’s visits would be very limited and he could not be with Mason during his most difficult times, setbacks, surgeries or to get to know his son and give me the support I need. People don’t realize how hard it is to have a baby in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, it’s such an emotional struggle and any help given takes some of the stress off our shoulders. Thank you, Emily and Keenan Our prayers for Mason and his parents. Just a side note, we did receive permission to post a picture of sweet Mason.
