This may sound partisan, but I am so glad to see President Obama - TopicsExpress

This may sound partisan, but I am so glad to see President Obama come out and be this blunt. I know his preference, his style, is to be conciliatory (if at all possible) and to reach out, aim for cooperation -- even bipartisanship. Activists out here, on the other hand, often get blunt. We sometimes sling the brickbats. We get overly partisan (just to make an important point.) Republicans took control of the Senate. They increased their lead in the House. They have a 5-4 margin in the Supreme Court, which is not supposed to be partisan at all (yet it always has been, underneath). IT IS ALL THE MORE IMPORTANT FOR US, as Democrats. We have to have his back. We have to get behind the nations President. I feel just sick that Democrats somehow did not vote.... Even if there are very real reasons for it. I hope as Democrats we stand even firmer behind President Obama, both when he stands alone, and when conciliation and real progress is possible for our country. The highest patriotism is a better America, for ourselves and for our children. It has to be about posterity, about the middle class, about schools, a better workforce, infrastructure, and a livable future. Liberals are not wrong. Our ideas are not wrong. We just lost an election. We lost badly. But I feel we are on the side of history..... (History just has not caught up with us.) -Robert Shepherd
