This post by me was deleted from Bennington Oral Health Coalitions page: Im concerned about contaminants, particularly aluminum present at approx 3.5% in sodium fluoride additives. According to the CDC, fluoride associates mainly with aluminum in freshwater. Aluminum fluoride works as an analogue to gamma phosphate molecules and has a measurable effect on g-protein function at millimolar concentrations. Given that aluminum fluoride typically has 3 and sometimes 4 ions per molecule, would it not stand to reason that too much of fluoridated water treated with tainted NaF would actually be introducing an inadvisable level of AlFx to the consumer. Its particularly disconcerting given Varners study, in which pharmaceutical grade (pure) NaF was given to rats in double distilled water at safe levels of 2.1ppm. After 52 weeks, double the amount of Al was in the brains compared to control group, and brain damage strikingly similar to Alzheimers was observed. If you would like the links to the CDC page, the complete Varner study, any # of studies on AlF and effect on g-proteins, Ill happily provide them. (didnt want to flood your page with what you might think of as the bad news) Heres a small sampling of contaminents in batches of fluoridation chemicals: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24999851
