This post contains a video with pictures not taken in Tazewell, or even in Southwest VA, but youll clearly be able to see why they are so meaningful to me, as the scenery of my adopted region of New England often echoes the beauty with which I was surrounded as a child growing up in Tazewell County. Please take a moment to view the video (link is at the bottom of this entry), and listen to the moving choral composition by the late Stephen Paulus (1949-2014) that accompanies the pictures. The words of this haunting setting make me think of home, and of the wonderful years spent singing at Tazewell High School with Bea Leist and the Green T Singers.
