This track (Missing You - Acoustic By John Waite) is my reference - TopicsExpress

This track (Missing You - Acoustic By John Waite) is my reference track when I edit ALL my audio for Youtube. Its brilliantly produced and this is what I am trying to achieve with the audio quality of my Youtube videos. I am getting a lot better in editing audio. One problem remains, my audio sounds harsh, tinny and really lacks body and warmth like in the reference track. Ive read articles using lower ratios (2:1) can help increase warmth and thickness. Adjust threshold to produce gain reduction to 5dB on peaks. Apparently, you should compress first. Then EQ, boost 1-2dB in the 50-150kHz range. Clean up mid range with a gentle cut at 200-250kHz to prevent the bass boost affecting the mid range. Also using a dynamic EQ can increase warmth. I will try these techniques today to fix this problem. I know that certain hardware can increase warmth but I am not interested in that at this stage. I am more concerned with editing techniques to increase warmth and body of your audio mix. youtube/watch?v=YA2pSq4MGQo
