This video was put together by The Carpenters Arms from the UK as part of their fund raising drive prior to their volunteer team arrival to assist us in getting the project started for Sawubona - I see You here in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal South Africa. The video is not for sensitive viewers, however it gives a peek into the real harsh realities of what is happening to so many newborns in South Africa and around our world. This is what has been tugging at my heart for many years now and brought about my dream for Sawubona - I see You...a family home for these precious unwanted abandoned babies. The team arrived on the 8th October and left on the 31st October 2014, and they did an absolutely outstanding job, converting a large room into the babies nursery, and before we could wink, they were gone and are back home in the UK already. What was once an empty large room is now a beautiful babies nursery, petitioned into a bathroom, toilet & sluice room, a laundry room, a dinning room connected to the existing kitchen and of course the babies nursery itself. Bryan and Judith Spence our friends When you heard about my dream you immediately offered your assistance and asked to take a look at our nursery menu...all that would be needed to get the nursery up and running, and you also offered your team who were willing to fundraise and come over and do the physical work....this was just over a year ago around September 2013. You did not just talk about it like so often many people do, but you guys swiftly put your words into action. What you so generously offered a year ago has now become a wonderful reality for the babies. We had no idea what to expect, but what we saw as everyone got stuck in and what we now see, just totally overwhelms us. It wont be too long now (hopefully only a couple of months to completion) when we Sawubona - I see You will be able to open our doors to our Newcastle community and surrounding areas, and take in the unwanted, neglected, abused and orphaned babies into this lovely nursery. We know that we have thanked you all many times already.... But here is another huge cyber hug and a heartfelt thank you from Colin and I to every single one of you and your families and friends who were involved in this amazing start for the babies. We so appreciate all your hard work that went into fund raising, training for skills to do the various building jobs, and for giving of your time, energy and your precious hearts to Sawubona - I see You here in south Africa. And we are grateful too for making such beautiful new friends.
