Thought for the day: A special THANK YOU goes out to my longtime - TopicsExpress

Thought for the day: A special THANK YOU goes out to my longtime friend & family member, Lisa I. Pate!! We hv known ea other since we were abt 8 & 10 yrs old. Our Moms were very good friends & we met when we lived in the same neighborhood. Both of us hv Jewish heritage. Mine - both parents. Hers - 1 parent, her dad. (May he R.I.P.) As time went on & Lisa met her future husband Gil (may he R.I.P. also) she became a Christian. As children, we didnt hv religious upbringings but I do knw that we both believed in G*d. That, carried us in2 our futures. & helped us to raise our children too. We would lose touch on & off wth different moves & the never-ending changes that life puts u thru, but we hv ALWYS reconnected! (Thank U G*d!! I am soooo gr8ful for this!!) So this is where the Thank U comes in: Even though our religious beliefs differ, our RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER does not!! Lisa not only accepts but understands that Jewish ppl hv different beliefs abt Jesus Christ. Jst as I accept & understand that her beliefs include Jesus Christ. She tries to live her life by, WWJD! :0) & thats a wonderful way to live it. But @ NO time has Lisa ever diminished MY beliefs!! She does not force her beliefs or opinions on me or my family! We talk abt EVERYTHNG under the sun! & when the subject of religion comes up, we knw we gv ea other a safe place to discuss or ask ea other whatever is on our minds. I am BLESSED wth MANY friends, who r now FAMILY!! My sister Debbie Landry is another GR8 example of this! She & I differ on not only religion but on another very difficult topic for some - Politics! Yet the MUTUAL RESPECT we hv for ea other allows us to speak our minds, take pride in our own opinions, & knw we can freely discuss whtevr the topic of the day is! This holds true for my niece, Sherry Stolarz too! A special shout out goes to Kyllos GPs, Donique Patton & Rick Walls who come over EVERY Hanukkah to help us celebrate as well as wishing us a happy... whtevr the Jewish holiday may be! (They maybe more Jewish than I am, come to think of it!!) There r many others who I can add to this list but my thought is already long enough for 2day! So 2 sum up 2days thought FB, Be respectful, be understanding, & be politically correct. :0)
