Thoughts For Today..... Sport.......Life....Yesterday, I came upon a verse that at first brought my son Terry to mind and his love of sailing across San Francisco Bay, and beyond the Gate. I have sailed with him several times, very exciting. Then as I pondered this........Calm seas does not make a skilled mariner So it is with life. If you never face adversity, challenges, loss, disappointment, grief, suffering, you wont navigate the waters of life with strength, growth, appreciation, knowledge, wisdom. You will simply float along not living life in its entirety. Never experience the beauty of this earth, relationships, blessings. Calm seas....(life is pleasant). When the winds blow, the waves crash against the bow, under full sail, wind in your face you must have a firm hand on the rudder. This is the true test of a skilled mariner. It will take all you have learned to sail back to calm seas. Then you will have learned your lessons well. Sail on with the wind in your face......soon it will be at your back. Clear sailing ahead......for awhile! I think we are skilled mariners. Namaste
