Three weeks ago at this very moment (7:00pm) my sweet baby girl, Alexandria Davidson left behind the pain and suffering she had been dealing with for the past ten years. No more surgeries, no more needles, no more procedures. She took her last breath and was immediately made whole again, her body was like news and she was perfect. I have no doubt that God was standing there just waiting to embrace her. I am also have no doubt that Brody Cole was standing beside Him waiting impatiently to ask her, What took you so long? The day she went into hospice at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, GA she had been so ill at home. Little did I know at that time she would never be coming back to her earthly home. As she lay so sick in our bed, with her daddy lying beside her I penned the below poem. I had planned on reading it at her memorial service, but I just couldnt. I miss her so very, very much. I know that she is not sad that she is gone. I believe she can see that we are sad, but she doesnt comprehend it anymore because there is no sadness in heaven; and that is fine with me. She would not want us to be that way. She fought an amazing fight, she shared her faith and love for God to everyone. She taught me to believe and trust more in God. I miss you every day with every beat of my heart, Alexandria. Fly high with the eagles. I promise that we are going to do everything possible to make certain that you, the life you lived, or your foundation ever be forgotten. I love you, mom Finally at rest In pain no more God welcomed you At heaven’s door. His arms opened wide His smile bright as the sun “Well done, He said My faithful One.” Your smile grew brighter As you peered through the gate At a little boy there who looked almost eight “Brody James Cole! You shouted with glee I knew you were here waiting for me.” There were so many more to welcome you in There was Granddad, Ainsley and Morgan there too, Yes, we’ll be sad, but we are happy for you. You fought a great fight and never gave up Your faith kept you strong and that was enough You won’t be forgotten, you’ll live on forever We can’t wait for the day until we are all back together So, this isn’t “goodbye” – It’s we’ll see you later
