Tick, tock, tick, tock... Everyone has their reasons for watching Scandal, mine are pretty easy. I love politics, I come from politics, a lot of the things Ive watched the last three seasons Ive not only seen, some Ive experienced! Ive met powerful people, worked with powerful people, even call a few of them friends. Now a lot of men watch this show, and they take a lot of heat for it... Mostly because folks who dont know the show like we do, think its all about Fitz and Olivia, ♥ when we ALL know, its so much more! ☎ Now I got to tell you, if the main focus on the show had been there love story… I wouldve tuned out a along time ago. Thank God its so much bigger than that! I watch the show for the drama, the intrigue, The twists, and mainly because all of this is written ✏ by and in the control of a black woman. I believe in supporting my own, but especially when my own has done such a damn good job of entertaining me. Im not a fan of any of the reality shows that have black casts: Love and hip-hop, basketball wives, the real house wives of whatever… I hate that nonsense with a passion! I wont even dignify that crap with capital letters. No I watch Scandal because its well written, and for the most part a lot of the stuff in many cases, is truthful. But the main reason I watch is because of my favorite character. Once he was introduced, and the WAY, he was introduced, at that point for me... The show took a complete turn - for me - in the right direction. He had the best lines, the best dialogue, and at the end when the smoke cleared he was the main one standing tall on top of it all. Yeah Olivia jumped on a plane and left with Jake… But there was no scene better then the look on his face at the very end, because when the smoke cleared, he, more than anyone else, including the POTUS and his election… Had WON! We all May be gladiators, but he… Is Caesar! Yes Rowan/Eli was my main reason for watching ( and a little nod to Huck) this show. I looked forward every week, every episode for a long diatribe from him. Long story short, Shonda Rimes made sure the two main Black characters Olivia, and Rowan… Both came out on top. And THATS why I watch. So in anticipation of the new season the one character Im looking forward to seeing more than any other… Is the Hell and the High water!
