Time for a Saturday morning rant -- I dont do this often but some people are just beyond understanding. I see today that Jeremy Clarkson (and presumably the BBC) are being sued by a female Asian actress. This is over a comment made during a recent Top Gear episode filmed in Burma/Thailand where the team built a bridge over the River Kwai. This is of questionable taste ; but thats another matter. Said actress has apparently taken the hump over the comment following completion of said bridge thats it done , but theres a slope on it. The camera looked back along the bridge , and it DID look as if it was higher on on side than the other. However our lady claims the reference to slope is derogatory towards Asian people as someone could be seen walking on the bridge. GET A FRIGGIN LIFE!!! Its the blackboard or manhole or chairman thing all over again. Jezza is paid to make wise cracks sometimes close to the knuckle (hey , its scripted!!!) but whether you like him or not Im damn sure the BBC would not leave themselves wide open like that ,,,, its a humorous motoring TV show ; get over it.
