Timeline of a my night. Head to bed at 10:30, asleep very quickly. Phone rings at 12:48. Mom having contractions about 5 mins apart for an hour. I get up and dress and am headed downstairs to my office to grab her chart when the phone rings again at 1:08. Baby is coming. Birth happening in the background as I am backing out of the driveway. My entrance ramp to 285 is blocked so I have to double back and head to a ramp south of me. Arrive at 1:50 to a serene scene and happily nursing new baby. Always in awe of the process!
