To my loyal readers…and future ones, too: Thanks so much! In the five years since I first published Meetings at the Metaphor Café and its sequel Midnight Comes to the Metaphor Café, I have sold somewhere north of 3,000 copies. This year I published The Restoration; the reviews have been stellar. 2015 promises to be fun with “Restoration” shows on February 19 at libraries in Encinitas (my new hometown) and May 16 in Coronado (the setting of the novel). I have had the good fortune to add Doug Smith and Linda Englund as readers for some shows (they have rave reviews, too). I have performed at many schools, and on April 15, Chaparral High School will be hosting my “Poetry Day in the Metaphor Café.” The Coronado Historical Society has been a fine supporter as has Lance Alsbaugh, the owner of Coronado’s Village Theater (which many of you have visited after reading The Restoration). I still have not enticed an agent or mainstream publisher, but I seem to be doing pretty well on my own—although Oprah or Ellen would be nice to have on my team. So with holidays fast approaching, if some of you have a few minutes to write a review, Amazon’s reviews of the novels really help my cause. Thanks for everything, Gang.
