Today, I joined regional leaders in Juba, South Sudan for the Inter-government Agency on Development (IGAD) mini-summit which comes in the wake of significant progress in negotiations in Addis Ababa and Tanzania. Ethiopian Premier Hailemariam Desalegn, Uganda’s Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda and I were briefed by President Salva Kiir on the progress of the talks. We appreciate the progress in the peace process and we urged the involved parties to continue mediation until all outstanding issues were thrashed out.
