Today I was hugged by a friend I work with because she said I have saved her life. Stunned by this she explained to me that a month ago I suggested she see a doctor about a mole on her back. Last week while at the doctors for a different reason she asked him to check the mole. He cut it out there and then. Yesterday her pathology result confirmed it was a melanoma. Tomorrow she is going in again to have more removed. The doctor said another month could have been fatal. Moral to the story is no matter how awkward it may seem to say if you see something like an unusual mole on someone bring it to their attention, it could save their life.
