Today, January 20th, we celebrate the Memorial of ST. SEBASTIAN, MARTYR (+288). Born in Milan of Christian parents, he is a model of soldiers who, while serving as a guard of Maximilian during the persecution of Christians by Diocletian, was helping Christians arrested, as he himself was a Christian. When his identity was found out, he was turned over to archers who pierced his body with numerous arrows. He survived this persecution, and after having been nursed back to health, he was again denouncing the persecution of Christians until he himself was again persecuted, beaten to death. No other saint was martyred twice, St. Sebastian is the patron saint of soldiers #BethelSolitude #Christisimus #DiscoveringOurSaints
