Today Sophia had her CATS assessment at the hospital. And I got the answer I knew all along - high functioning autism. I cannot tell you how relieved I am to hear this. She has been showing autistic traits since 11 months old (possibly earlier but thats hen I picked up on it). It was such a fight to even get her on the waiting list for the assessment. I cannot tell you how many times I have heard that she was too social to be autistic. Or the endless times I heard that I was looking into things that werent there. Autism is not something to be scared of. Yes its more common in males and harder to pick up the signs in females. I got commended for picking up on the signs so early and for listening to my gut feeling. Please if you ever have questions about Sophia, feel free to leave a message on here or PM me.
