Today at the Naidoc gig I made a comment on how things for my people are taking a turn for the worse. Let me re-iterate. Hope is still shining bright, and a big positive change is occurring. Ive started seeing a whole lot of beautiful things happening within our community here in AUS. Mainly, the peoples mentality. Australians on a whole are starting to open their hearts in a much more understanding manner, the mindset is shifting into a really beautiful place. This is so inspiring. What I meant to say before getting caught up in the moment, is that how Indigenous Australia is being treated by our current government is really taking a turn for the worse. Im starting to see with my own two eyes, the hugely detrimental effect these budget cuts are having on vital services that are doing extremely good things within our community. All the while our own Prime Minister is perpetuating the notion that the white settlement within this country is and was the best thing to happen here, and how much we owe to foreign investment and to the British government on all the good they have brought this country. It really is some messed up s#*t. So bare with me on my frustrations fam, the people, thats you and me, were rolling in the right direction. Its dope. So dope. Its just real sad to see how far backwards our Leader and his party are taking us. But on the real, it was awesome to share today with you Sydney, to kick off Naidoc week in such a positive manner, even after all the negativity weve been surrounded with recently.
