Today is all about Shelby from Between The Sheets. Shelby is one of my favorite characters Ive ever written. Shes horribly wounded and has so much love to give but has never felt safe giving it. So shes found these little outlets where its okay for her to FEEL something. ANYTHING. Her Art Barn and teaching kids allow her to feel connected without too much risk. However once Ty shows up with his easy affection and warmth, shes done for. One of my favorite artists is Patty Griffin and her song Sweet Lorraine, is the inspiration for Shelby.
