Today is another one of those WOW days! Indianas shameful voter-approved ban/bigotry excluding gay Hoosier families from the fundamental rights of marriage was struck down today as unconstitutional. Gay Americans Fourteenth Amendment guarantees to equal protection and due process are fundamental constitutional rights the mob cannot just vote away permanently. Courts all over the country have seen there is not a shred of evidence---because gay people and our many straight allies (including many religious folk) have fought back against the idiocy---to support the old lies and supremacist traditions of hate that for so long gave so many a license to treat gay people as inferior. Yes, gay couples across the Ohio River are now legally marrying. AND ALSO TODAY, the 10th Circuit Federal Court of Appeals upheld a lower Utah courts ruling protecting gay Americans marriage rights as EQUAL citizens. The 10th Circuits ruling is historic and precedent-setting. It applies not just to Utah but also to the states of Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Wyoming. And God smiled as Nature danced and Justice nodded in approval. Yep.
