Today is the beginning of National Asthma Week. More and more Australian’s of all ages are presenting in our pharmacies with asthmatic symptoms. Today’s #medicinemonday is great video from @NPSMedicineWise that shows us how to correctly use a pressurised metered-dose inhaler (like Ventolin or Asmol). These inhalers are known as relievers, and are fast acting medications that give quick relief of asthma symptoms (wheeze, cough, shortness of breath). They are bronchodilator, which means they relax the muscle around the outside of the airway, which opens the airway. Everyone with asthma should have a reliever medication ow.ly/AQfDs
