Today, my guardian angels worked overtime, yet again. Due to injuries sustained while working a few days ago, I planned a visit to my acupuncturist today at noon for a “special tune-up” as parts of my body were very sore. I tried knitting last night and apparently this aggravated the injuries to the point I could no longer knit *sigh* so…………………… thankfully I was able to be fit in today for a session. After completing a few errands before my appointment, I was in the truck, behind several other vehicles, stopped at a red light in town. All of a sudden I heard a very loud crashing noise behind me and as I glanced in the rear view mirror to see what happened, I was propelled forward on my seat (from the waist up) as a second crashing noise announced the fact that I, too, had been rear-ended by the first vehicle to have been hit. After a quick call to 911, I was able to get out of the truck to assess the damage behind me. The middle car’s driver was getting out of her vehicle, looking a bit dazed but not physically injured. Her poor (looked quite new) car looked like an accordion, front and back. The driver whose car had been responsible for the crashing noises, was walking unsteadily towards our vehicles, talking on his cell phone, with his forehead bleeding and swollen. I was finally able to get him to sit down on the curb of the road, after much persuasion, to wait safely for the ambulance to arrive. His poor car was a total disaster! The muffler was in the middle of the road, the front end was a huge mess with car parts scattered all over the road. WOW, it is nice to know that my aging brain still functioned well enough to be of assistance rather than a quivering bowl of jello in an emergency! Help arrived quickly, information taken, and I was able to go on my somewhat merry way. The truck received some damage. It will need a new bumper and back light replacement BUT, Praise God for watching over all of us, as we all were able to walk away in one piece. It is so much better to need to fix broken car parts rather than broken body parts. How fortunate this happened before my appointment. I arrived at the scheduled time and was able to be treated not only for the injuries from work, but now also the discomfort I was feeling in my neck, as well as a minor adrenalin headache. Thought for the evening: “Even to your old age and gray hairs; I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” Isaiah 46:4 Prayers of gratitude for guardian angels who NEVER give up on us.
