Today was a time for reflection. Today was my late Nans funeral. I - TopicsExpress

Today was a time for reflection. Today was my late Nans funeral. I could have been stubborn and attended. But sometimes you have to consider the wider context. To attend would have given a very embittered old man the chance to distastefully posture. I wish to pay two tributes to my Nan. She survived my late Grandad by over 25 years. This is a quite an achievement. But beyond this, I owe her a great deal of gratitude for bearing much the burden for caring for me after the said embittered old man left my Mother, and indeed after his subsequent failed relationships. Had she, in similar fashion to the embittered old man, adopted the attitude that she as a parent done her job, and had no obligation to her grandchildren, I would have suffered significantly. But there is some irony here. It would appear that said embittered old man endeavoured to press ahead in Executing my Nans Last Will & Testament without consulting me. Me being the other beneficiary. It transpires that he has been thwarted by Probate. He has been led back to me. I have no financial motivations here. But rest assured, I will be duly contesting his suitability as Executor with Probate. It is clear he is not suitable for the role, and a neutral administrator is needed. This way, we may at least secure some modest articles that can help us to keep alive the memory of a fine lady. This is far more important than any financial gain, which may or may not have been spent in haste by some parties.
