Today we’ve got another Row For It! hero to tell you about. Caroline Sammon, who also volunteers with us, took on our Silver (10km) challenge to mark her 40th birthday. She completed the row in a time of 51.18 minutes and is now planning a 10km run and a 20km cycle in a bid to raise 40,000 pennies for 40km at the age of 40! Caroline says: “One of my dear friends has been affected by this horrible disease. When I went with my friend to her appointment to remove Ernie, a brain tumour that had come uninvited to her family, I was amazed at the determination she had to continue with life in such an inspiring and positive way and not let Ernie take over. Her positivity and bravery has really encouraged me to believe that what was originally a therapeutic trip to the gym can now be turned into a 40th challenge.” A huge well done and thank you to Caroline.
