Together to reforms Yulia Tymoshenko, candidate for president of Ukraine and leader of the Batkivshchyna Party, has signed a partnership memorandum with the Ukrainian Association of Village and Town Councils. The signing of this memorandum is not just the continuation of this work. We are creating a working group that like in 2009 will have experts with strong experience working with village, town and city government. This memorandum outlines what we need to do to have truly strong local government, wealthy and strong communities, Yulia Tymoshenko said during today’s congress of village, town and city mayors and local council deputies from the Batkivshchyna Party. The leader of Batkivshchyna stressed that the aim of this document is to support reform of local government in Ukraine aimed at amending the land, budget and tax codes so as to strengthen the financial position of local communities, and safeguard the land and property rights of local communities. We will implement this memorandum every day, Yulia Tymoshenko said.
