Tom and I are very concerned about an issue with Emerson and if anyone out there can give us some insight it would be appreciated. For about 2 weeks, we have noticed that Emerson will make a funny sound when eating, as if to clear her throat, and is eating less and less. She has been bringing most of her school lunch home and not eating much dinner. This weekend its gotten much worse. She hasnt felt good all weekend and complained her throat was hurting so we figured it was that until she said shes afraid shes going to choke so she doesnt want to eat. After talking to her, we got some more info from her. She said it hurts and it feels like her food is getting stuck in her throat and not going down so thats why she isnt eating. Then we realized the clearing noise is her making it come back up. When she eats she chews the food into almost nothing just so she can swallow it and if she cant get it small enough she cries and begs to spit it out. I told her I was making her an appointment tomorrow with her doctor and she asked if I could do it in the morning so he will fix it and she can eat her lunch. That broke my heart. Any clues as to whats going on with my baby girl?
