Tomorrow (Sunday), we will begin preparing for our December performances of Handels Messiah. I have composed a piece for the opening of the concert. Rutland Area Chorus Rehearsals begin for Handel’s Messiah In preparation for Grace Congregational Church’s annual presentation of Handel’s Messiah on December 7th at 3:30 and 7:00 PM, the Rutland Area Chorus will resume practices beginning Sunday, November 2nd. Anyone is invited to join in singing this great baroque masterpiece depicting the prophecy and birth of Jesus Christ. The rehearsals will be 2-4 PM on Sunday afternoons in November in Fellowship Hall. The dress rehearsal on December 6th from 12:30 to 2:45 PM is mandatory. You can miss 2 Sunday November afternoon rehearsals if unavoidable. The choir will sing all of Part 1 and the Hallelujah Chorus from Handels Messiah; We Praise Thee, O God from Handels Te Deum; and The Angels Fanfare, a new processional composed for orchestra and chorus by Rip Jackson.
