Tomorrow, we will hold a hearing in the House Committee on Small Business on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agencys (EPA) “Waters of the United States” rule, and the effects it will have on small businesses throughout the U.S. The “Waters of the United States” rule is a proposed rule by the EPA and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers that seeks to drastically broaden the regulatory scope of the EPA. There is hardly a week that goes by in Washington where we aren’t discovering a new rule or regulation from this heavy-handed Administration that is overreaching and will have an adverse impact on small businesses and hard-working American families. I will continue to work with my colleagues in the House of Representatives to unleash the vast potential of our small businesses to create jobs and grow the economy, and fight this Administration’s Washington-knows-best mentality that does far more harm than good.
