Tonight marks the first appearance of the meteor shower called the Camelopardalids. Meteor showers are named based on the place in the sky where they radiate from. Meteor showers are usually the result of the Earth passing through the dust left by a comets trail. The Camelopardalids are from Comet 209P/LINEAR, a relatively new comet discovery. Since this is the first time this shower is happening, we dont know what to expect, but check it out tonight, starting around 11pm MDT, between Polaris (North Star) and The Big Dipper.
