Traffic Impact Report in Hardin County Interstate / Parkway Systems Interstate 65 – Widening To 3 Lanes Each Direction (Approximately MP 58 – 65 / Horse Cave to Munfordville) - Two lanes will remain open each direction, just as before construction - Speed limit reduced to 55 in construction zone - No major construction delays expected - Rest areas north of Horse Cave will be closed for one week, each as ramps are rebuilt (closure schedule is yet to be determined) - This section is scheduled for completion in October of 2015 Interstate 65 – Widening To 3 Lanes Each Direction (Approximately MP 65 – 81 / Munfordville to Sonora) - Project going to contract letting this month. - Awarding of a contract could happen in September - Project schedule will be determined once awarded and preconstruction meeting takes place Interstate 65 (Special Note) – Concrete work north of Hardin County - This project is being administered through District 5 in Louisville - For details of the project, including schedules, please contact the D5 office at 502-210-5400 Western Kentucky Parkway – Pavement Rehabilitation Each Direction (Approximately MP 95-106) - Reduced to one lane - Speed limit reduced to 55 in construction zone - Completion expected in early September Western Kentucky Parkway – Pavement Rehabilitation Westbound (Approximately MP 114-118) - Reduced to one lane eastbound through project zone - Wide load restriction - Truck turnaround setup for wide loads with a short eastbound reduction to one lane at the turnaround - Speed limit reduced to 55 in construction zone - Lane closures will be taken down at the end of this week but will be reestablished in early September to complete the work - Completion expected by the end of September Bluegrass Parkway – Bridge Work On US 31E Over Parkway (MP 20) - Bridge deck overlay in progress - Westbound parkway at this location is reduced to one lane (right lane closed) - Work is being performed on upper side of the bridge - Speed limit reduced to 55 in construction zone - Wide loads over 12 feet are restricted between exits 21 and 25 - Completion is expected mid-next week Bluegrass Parkway – Work On Chaplin River Bridge (MP 42) - Bridge painting project - Each direction reduced to one lane - Speed limit reduced to 55 in construction zone - Wide loads over 12 feet are restricted between exits 21 and 25 - Work is nearly complete, awaiting inspection - Lanes should be open on Monday Hardin County – US 31X (Westpoint) – Railroad Crossing Repair - Road is closed at the crossing - Work should be complete by the end of the day on Friday US 31W – Resurfacing From Near Glendale North To Lincoln/WK Parkway Intersection - Motorists should exercise additional caution - Flaggers will direct traffic around paving operations - Completion expected end of next week KY 220 – Railroad Crossing Repair In Rineyville - Road will be closed at the crossing beginning at 7am Monday - Work should be complete by the end of the day on Friday - Mobile message boards are in place to alert traffic of the upcoming closure KY 361 – Bullion Connector Construction From KY 313 To US 31W - Road is open to traffic while final construction takes place - Motorists should exercise additional caution - Completion is expected this fall KY 313 – Resurfacing From Just North Of US 31W To Commerce Drive (Approximately MP 9-12) - Work will be conducted at night (9pm – 6am) to minimize impacts to traffic - Motorists should exercise additional caution - Flaggers/signage will direct traffic around paving operations - Completion expected Friday night KY 1136 – Railroad Crossing Repair In Glendale (Near Old Glendale Children’s Home) - Road will be closed at the crossing beginning at 7am Monday - Work should be complete by the end of the day on Tuesday - Mobile message boards are in place to alert traffic of the upcoming closure KY 3005 (Ring Road) – Resurfacing From KY 361 To US 31W / From US 31W To KY 251 - Work will be conducted Monday – Friday at night (9pm – 6am) to minimize impacts to traffic - Motorists should exercise additional caution - Flaggers/signage will direct traffic around paving operations - Milling and paving will be completed west of US 31W first and then move to east side of US 31W - Completion expected late next week
