Transmission Update from Sandy Beech: Hi everyone.. As you can imagine, myself and the programming team here at Sunshine Radio feel extremely frustrated that our transmission problems continue to affect Sunshine Radio this evening. Some attempts were made today to resolve the issue but sadly, no progress could be made. Our transmitter boxes are in perfect working order, so as it stands, we now require a specialist to climb to the very top of our transmission mast and check the cabling / connections. This is no easy task (its very high and requires assailing equipment) but we are hoping this can be done tomorrow afternoon. I am really delighted that so many of you can see how much time, money, effort and attention to detail has gone into the programming and marketing side of Sunshine Radio. I guess thats why so many people have said to me today Sandy, these things happen. Yes, they do, but I believe there should always be a plan B and some forward planning for these situations. I have always been determined that Sunshine Radio should, as much as possible, operate as a world class radio station from both a programming and transmission point of view. The first has clearly happened, the latter has not. Therefore, in addition to trying to correct the immediate problem, I am now personally reviewing all of our transmission arrangements to ensure, within reason, this problem will never happen again. It is simply not fair to our listeners, our commercial partners and the team here at Sunshine Radio that are working so hard. In the meantime, I have taken the difficult decision to cancel all live programming on the station tomorrow and review this situation on a daily basis. We will continue to play brilliant music which you can hear online and in a small number of places in Paphos on FM and keep working hard to get this issue fixed as quickly as possible. Honestly, we cant wait to be back on air but we need this to be fixed properly so well continue to update you here on Facebook and please keep everything crossed for us that our specialist turns up tomorrow, finds and fixes the immediate problem!
