True, grace is Gods unmerited favor. Yet unmerited favor is only one aspect of grace. Grace is Gods promise to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. Consider Abraham. The Bible says he “believe God, and it was credited to him as righteousness (Rom. 4:3). Abraham didn’t just believe there was a God; he believed that what God promised would come to pass in his life. God promised to do for Abraham what Abraham and Sarah could not fulfill on their own. This is the glory of Gods grace: it accomplishes for us what is otherwise impossible.
