Tuesday 13th January 2015 The Highway or the narrow road. Now in the cinema of life it feels like everyone is on the fast forward. Fast cars, fast internet, fast food, faster processing computers and now there are many caught in the fast lane. Transport systems are now making transportation from one point to the other faster. Now new technology have been invented on how to reduce traffic and now roads are much broader with many lanes, turn stops and frequent speed ramps. The roads in our lives now are so broad and so many that there are many lost in the fast lane heading to the grave. It feels so good living in the fabulous fast life. So many now take the broad road which leads to destruction because that is the first class, the smooth, the fast and cool, the worlds choice road. With all the warning signs but the flashy lights make it impossible to resist. Like a moth drawn to the fire we speed of to destruction. But there is a road which is now deteriorating: the road to the FATHER. This road has begun to grow weeds since fewer and fewer people travel it in this modern era. The one-way single carriage road. Which can only be traveled by foot. Because to travel it one must leave everything and carry his cross (Mark 10:21). Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6 KJV). This road is a narrow road that leads to a glory far above any. It leads to Christ HIMSELF. HE is the way, HE is the vehicle and HE is the destination.The bible says Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matt 7:13-14 (KJV) Many of us are blinded by the lights and speed of the highway that even when we see the stop lights and danger warnings we dont even see the narrow road to CHRIST; even if we see we ignore it. A Christian life is a walk with Christ not a race with unbelievers. Many of us like the fast lane but have you asked yourself what is at the end? Can I change lanes when I AM READY? Dont wait till its too late. The time to change lanes is now. Christ is reaching out to you. All you have to do is take HIS hand. I pray that a light greater than all lights shine on us so that we see and follow the narrow road to GOD. Shalom. ©The light of Peace.
