Tusk may be my favorite movie of 2014. No, not film.......movie. We have disconnected from the lewd, unbelievable, and outright zany ideas old movies used to have. Nowadays everyone wants a true story, close to true story, or based on events. Everyone wants to take something away from their viewing experience.....like a lesson, a more sophisticated sense of art, or just being able to say I saw that here is my professional opinion for you. I went into this movie thinking it would try to take itself serious to fit in with the too real feel of most movies. What I saw was a film maker having a great time and begging his audience to join in. I havent laughed that hard in YEARS and it disturbed me more than a ton of gory horror movies I have seen that tried to be serious. Kudos Kevin Smith.....in a box office filled with movies like Fury, Gone Girl, and The Equalizer.......you swooped in and dropped a gem among the normal fare of crap. Considering the high praise I am giving it, I dont doubt a few of you will automatically think it sucks, but dont try that hard.....for once. Just let your guard down and let a silly movie take you on an adventure.
