Twenty years ago today, (August 8, 1994), my father got extremely sick with an aneurysm (internal bleeding) in the head and immediately entered the ER at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. To save his life, he underwent two surgeries both of which were successful. Afterwards, he was recovering very gradually for about six months. My family and I visited him in the hospital every day and noticed the he was progressing very gradually; he was able to communicate more clearly with us later on. Once he was well enough, he gradually got back into the swing of going to work, initially working part time and then working full time as an electrical engineer for another 15 years until he retired in November 2010. Presently (exactly 20 years later after this day), he is doing well and enjoying his retired life. Its just so hard to believe how fast 20 years can fly by (feels just like yesterday). He is very lucky to survive something like this.
