Two years ago today, my boy went from this life to the next. Ill never forget that terrible day and the race to get to Saskatoon, where he had been taken by the coroners office. I can still see him, in a plywood box, zipped up in a body bag...colder than ice...but looking peaceful and at rest. So many tears since then, so many memories of my little blond boy, so young and innocent...I turned my head for a minute, looked back ...and he was a man...then he was gone. The 33 years we had him with us passed in a flash. Having said that, I have a lot to be thankful for...my brothers and sisters and their unwavering love and support...friends galore who make me laugh with their memories of something foolish Scott Turpin did or said...Dana Legge, who took time from her sojourn in France to reach out to me today...She has always been there for Lisa and me...Im grateful that Scotts dad passed before Scott did, losing Scott have torn the heart right out of Bob....Im thankful for the kindness of the people in my hometown of Lawn Newfoundland, who take the time to straighten the flowers on Scotts grave and keep it tidy when I cant be there. Im thankful for the Facebook friends who brighten every day with jokes and beautiful pics and special messages...and for Scotts friends who shared their memories with me after he passed. God bless you all. Most of all, I am thankful and blessed for my other child, my daughter, Lisa Turpin...Scotts passing left a huge hole in her heart and in her life as well, but she always puts her own misery aside and takes care of me first. Rest in peace, my son. If love could have saved him, he would have lived forever
