On Tuesday 1/27, one day after negotiations re-start in NYC on the Trans-Pacific Partnership...both houses of Congress will hold hearings on new Fast Track (FT) legislation. WE NEED TO BE Very Concerned about Pres. Obama pushing for FT in the SOTU speech, then one week later Congress holding hearings introducing these FT bills. Despite the fact that the President is throwing his base (us) and even Congressional Democrats under the bus by collaborating with Republicans on FT, they are Very Excited about this bipartisan opportunity to Advance the Interests of the 1%, to the detriment of the middle and working class....The NYC rally will say to Congress that we do not want them to Fast Track the rotten trade deal, Trans-Pacific Partnership that would sell off our environmental laws, outsource our jobs to sweat shops, raise the cost of medicines in the interest of pharmaceutical companies. The message to Congress: We will hold you responsible if you move Fast Track legislation that turns you into a rubber stamp for these agreements that do nothing more than Advance the Interests of Corporations at the Expense of the Working and Middle Class People.
