Utterly amazing! Stunned by the ways of God. (Short version … full version is below it): There was no way, when I went to sleep last night, that we could meet a big bill due to hit our bank today. This morning I woke up (after a refreshing sleep!) and found that a small gift, expected usually around this time, was much larger this month and pushed our bank balance just a little bit over the amount needed and BEFORE the bill was direct debited out of our account! Gods timing and care astounding, yet again! For a little more of the story and blessing … Last Sunday in church I led the congregation to CAST their cares upon the Lord, because He promises to sustain us when we do. I told them then that I too was casting a burden on the Lord. We had a big bill expected to be debited out of our bank account this morning. On Sunday morning we did not have it. By bank closing time - the last opportunity for me to deposit anything yesterday - we were still short about £40. All week, as we prayed about it, I kept going back to the Lord and saying that I trusted in His sustaining power to bring us through this one. Since Sunday morning I honestly did not have a care about it, BUT I had no idea HOW He would sustain us at this time with this and other bills. So it was, when we went to bed, I slept well, saying to the Lord as I dozed off, that I trusted He would sustain us and not cause us bank issues and other charges and stuff. This morning to see that simple, but timely provision of a small extra deposit BEFORE the direct debit hit was absolutely stunning to me. Its a little detail, but this morning it was enough to sustain and carry us through on this need! Amazing! As I was about to sleep, a dear friend of mine in Haiti wrote last night and told me how he had not been able to buy food for a couple of months. I do not know what he and his family are eating. Will you pray for them this morning and the many who round the world are looking to their Father in Heaven to open His hand in provision today and are dependent on Him doing that? Thank you.
