VACANCY CIRCULAR NO: 1 OF 2013 REF: DIT 4/5/9 II (84) 27TH SEPTEMBER, 2013 PRINCIPAL SYSTEM ANALYST II (1 POST) Department of Information Technology invites applications for the above position tenable in Gaborone Department of Metrological Services. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB To provide IT support and manages IT projects in Government. DUTIES: • Provides IT advisory service to Government • Develops and implements ministries ICT strategy and manages its projects. • Provides IT equipment specification for procurement purposes (procures hardware, software and services), formulates invitation to tender and evaluates them. • Consolidates Central Government ICT assets, manages micro maintenance contracts (SLA). • Administers variety of climate database systems. • Manages projects (reviews and monitors projects progress, ensuring that projects are completed on budget, time and scope) enforces compliance to project management standards and procedures, manages ICT contracts and facilitates e-government clusters. • Prepares project memorandum, prepares and monitors recurrent and development budget, recommends/ authorizes payments for services provided. SALARY SCALE: D3 (182 784- 201 792 per annum) LEAVE: 30 working days per annum. BENEFITS: Optional Contributory Medical Aid Scheme with 50% from Government and 50% for employee. Contributory Pension Fund Scheme with 15% of basic salary being Government contribution whilst the employee contributes only 5%. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should possess a recognized Degree in Data Communications and Networking, computer studies with a strong emphasis on networking technologies, Data Processing or any Information Technology related subjects. EXPERIENCE: Direct entry to this grade will be limited to who hold Degree in Information Technology or related 8 years relevant work experience, two years of which should be at Senior Systems Analyst D4 salary scale.
