VERY IMPORTANT. PLEASE READ. Okay friends, this is the way we understand how things are working at the Waterbury Dog Pound. When an animal comes in, she is held for two weeks while she is watched for symptoms of Parvo. During that time, she is tested twice for the disease. If she tests negative, she is then put out on the adoption floor. Once available for adoption, she has approximately 1 month before being euthanized. This is the reason why we know there are many animals at the shelter, yet we dont know who they all are. The fact remains that the shelter is FULL. Every kennel is FULL. Regardless of where an animal is in her intake process, the kennels are FULL. This means one thing: THEY NEED ADOPTIONS. NOW. The ones there the longest are at the greatest risk of being euthanized for space. Ivy is now our girl who has been at the pound the longest. Her photo album on the shelters Facebook page was posted on July 11th, exactly 1 month ago today. She needs to be adopted ASAP. What can we tell from the expression on Ivys adorable little face? She is a sweetheart whose happiness and hopefulness know no bounds. You can just about fall into her heart through those big brown eyes and know that she trusts wholly, unwaveringly, and without any reservation. She wants desperately for someone to guide her, someone she can adore, and someone who will adore her back and protect her til the end. This is what we see in Ivy. Please, lets not let her hope and her beauty slip away. Ivy is listed as a pittie mix (maybe Boxer and/or American Bulldog?) She is estimated to be between 3-5 yrs old.
