Vandana Shiva was making exactly this point to the lady who interviewed her on BBC! Interviewer was not believing this fact and kept on saying India is better off now due to Mosanto etcetera !!! Vandana was repeatedly correcting her on her ignorance of the reality in India! They all hear India is exporting cotton! Well retorted Vandana India has exported cotton even during British stay in India and even before that! But that all crops have to be looked at together! You cannot isolate cotton production from production of other crops! Mosanto ought not be allowed in India !! All this improvement of quantity of produce by genetic interference is such a farce! The fact is seed is being interfered with resulting in loss of biodiversity and quality of crop! Huge amounts of one type of crop with annihilation of possibilities of growing other kinds of veggies is a dead loss! It results in pushing everyone to Fast Food Corporations and producing ill health and obesity!!! Pharmaceutical Companies getting wealthier with people buying medicines to get well ! A vicious cycle is created !!! India is now suffering from the worst case of diabetes!! Many immigrants are suffering from hypertension and enormous stress resulting in cancer and other illnesses!! They do not have time for themselves, trying to make a buck joining the rat race!!! Where are we all heading I would like to know?!
