Visited with my Aunt about my Grandpa Pete Dupris Sr. today, - TopicsExpress

Visited with my Aunt about my Grandpa Pete Dupris Sr. today, remembering him. I miss my Grandpa. He had a good sense of humor. I remember when I was a kid I must have been about 12 years old, I was convinced we could pick up a round bale and take it home, he would laugh at me. Finally he pulled over and let me try to load one up, and of course as the bale sets it settles in place and it wont budge unless you have a tractor! He loved to take us kids out with him when he would go and check his set lines at the river, or would take us out on his little boat up the channels. Me and my Brother, and my Cousins had a lot of fun with him. And also talked about my Grandma Hazel, how she never liked her pictures taken and so if you got her picture her mouth was usually open and she was trying to turn away! I remember how she cooked the best breakfast, she would cook me an egg sandwich before I rode up to the main gravel road to catch the school bus and she would hand me an orange crush pop to wash it down with. My Grandparents had a ranch down in Armstrong, it was a large operation at one time. Back in the 80s they ran into trouble with the Production Credit Association and the ranch was pretty much shut down. Well, I miss them but Im thankful that they were a part of my life, I can still hear their laughter, spending time with them out on the Ranch. Ill always be thankful to my Grandparents (Pete Dupris Sr., Hazel Dupris, Steve Arpan, and Florence Arpan) because I learned a good Work Ethic from all of them, and how to be a good person.
